“UNDERFACE” by Shel Silverstein
Paraphrase
Stanza 2 talks about
the hidden face behind people. It expresses a bit about insecurities like on
stanzas 3 and 4.
Attitude
The attitude of this
poem is honest. Silverstein is being honest with the readers and talk about the
fact of hiding our real us to “fit in” more perfectly.
Shift
The shift appears at
the end of the poem when the author talk about other people being like him
instead of focusing on his point of view.
Opinion
I personally like this
poem because it talks about a subject that is not talked about enough.
Recommendation
I really liked this
poem. I will certainly recommend it.
